yet another low-key weekend

So I should have been clear when I said I was going to blog every day in May. I meant weekday. If I am going to blog on a weekend, it will be posts to get me ahead for the next week!

My weekend was super uneventful. I am going to Washington DC next weekend for work so I really didn't want to be go-go-go this weekend. To keep it short, this weekend, I...

- went to bed early both nights

- met my parents for A to get a smoker for his new hobby - becoming a BBQ Master. It took all four of us to lift it off the back of the truck!

The lawn people came right after he took this.

- assembled a dog house for Duncan. He is terrified of it and refuses to go in. We put his bed in, he pulls it out. We throw treats in, and he ignores them. Any tips?

- watched The Impossible. I didn't love the story, but seeing the recreated images of the force of the water from the tsunami was pretty incredible. I can't imagine being in that situation.

- went to Trader Joe's, my favorite!

- watched tons of Arrested Development. If you have an even slightly silly sense of humor, you have got to watch this show. I am pretty sure I have seen most every episode, but never in order. IFC seems to be playing them in order so we are filling the DVR and watching them when we have a chance before the new season comes to Netflix at the end of the month. (you can also watch it free on Amazon Prime).

I also caught a sweet moment between my husband and dog on camera. Ignore the fact that Andrew is holding a match - he was about to light the grill.

Happy, happy doggy

So, this week I need to find some things to do in DC, alone and near Capitol Hill. Unfortunately, there are no White House tours due to the sequester and a lot of things are closed Sunday, which is my only full day there. If you have any suggestions, please pass them my way!

{ETA: Justin Timberlake - December 5th - I need to be there! Anyone going? Be still, my teenybopper heart!}

  8. Have you ever considered about adding a
    little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say
    is valuable and all. However just imagine if you added some great photos
    or video clips to give your posts more, "pop"! Your content is excellent but with pics and
    videos, this site could certainly be one of the most beneficial in its field.
    Awesome blog!
