a happy weekend

I had a great three day weekend - enough busy-ness so I didn't feel like a sloth but not so much that I was exhausted by the time Sunday night rolled around. Nothing a few bullet points can't sum up:

- Spent my day off Friday with my nieces again just walking around the mall and dollar store and going to lunch. They just needed out of the house. I'm going to miss them!

- Vietnamese food for dinner on Friday - chargrilled pork is a new favorite go-to.

- Started watching Six Feet Under. It's so weird that Dexter Morgan and Adam Braverman are brothers. I don't love it, but I like it so I'll give it more of a try.

- On Saturday there was a BBQ pop-up that Andrew wanted to go to at a bar more "in town." I invited Heidi and her husband and they were able to meet us! The food was okay but the company was great! So happy to have my bloggy BFF back home, even if living in the same city still has us over 50 miles from each other's houses.

The only pic I took except one of the food, which didn't look that great...

- I drank 75% of a beer. I hate beer so this deserves to be documented! It was an Abita Purple Haze and I was really hot and it was cold so that helped but I definitely didn't want another.

- It's kind of weird when you meet a blog friend's husband two-on-two. I kept asking Heidi's husband about things they've done lately and I'm sure he felt weird that I knew so much but hey, between blog posts, emails, gchats, and texts, you really get a glimpse of a person's life.

- The house got cleaned and errands were run. We gave an Indian restaurant in our suburb a second chance and it was great - always a plus.

I'm ready for the short week and long weekend ahead!

  2. Sooooo my work email is back to hating you are I'm on my phone, and I hate typing on my phone, lol. Anyways, I've always wanted to go to a restaurant pop-up! Kind of stinks the food was just okay, but I'm glad you had good company. My best friend who is not a beer drinker likes the Abita Beer. I've never had it, but between the two of you, I may need to try it! I'm ready for a short work week!

  3. So glad your nieces visit went well.

Finding good restaurants is always a plus.

I am so ready for a short work week. This weekend is seriously my favorite of the year. Fireworks for the win!

  5. How fun that you got to hang out with Heidi! I love when you can involve the husbands too!

You need to try some ciders if available at your local bars. I think you would enjoy them much more than regular beer. Abita Purple Haze is not my favorite...at all.

I started watching The Mindy Project this weekend thanks to your recommendation. Chris and I both liked it and binge watched like 10 episodes.

  8. So many people have told me to get into 6 Feet Under - I HAD NO IDEA Adam Braverman and Dexter were in it! I don't think I could handle seeing them as brothers. That's too weird- I know Adam's siblings so well! haha !

  11. Sounds like a great weekend! Good for you for at least trying a beer :) I like 6ft under, though some of the seasons got a bit out there...I think it had the best finale.

  13. I totally forgot those two were brothers in that show, but it is a really good show. I was not a fan of the Purple Haze either but yeah for giving it a try! So cool she is now back in the same city, even if it is further than you'd like.

  15. Kids always need to get out of the house!!

I love your bloggy BFF lives so close now, the next time you meet two on two it won't feel as weird.

I love Indian food, I should find some here!

  16. Six Feet Under is totally bizarre. I think I have all of it on DVD even though I'm pretty sure I haven't seen the end of it.

I am in desperate need of some productivity and relaxation this weekend.

I got an invite to something that sounds awesome on Sunday but I know I'll regret it if I agree to it.

  17. Congrats on your 75% of a beer! I feel about wine how others feel about beer so I won't make a big deal out of it ha. I hate when people try to get me to try all types of new kids because they just don't believe me. Glad you had such a good weekend!

  18. Dexter Morgan and Adam Braverman are brothers in a show?! That is crazy. I can see how that would be incredibly weird! David and I are still chugging along with Parenthood. We're in Season 2 at the moment. Hattie is still living at the grandparents (but not for long I don't think) and Adam got baked from a lollipop his boss gave him (<--- that made me laugh sooo hard!). I'm glad you had a great weekend!

  23. WE NEED TO CHAT ABOUT SIX FEET UNDER! GET AT ME!

PS I thought it was boring at first too, but it's totally worth the time investment and I swear it gets really, really good.

  24. Seeing a picture of US in my bloglovin feed just made my day! We had such a good time hanging with y'all and wished we lived closer! (Is it really 50 miles?! yikes!) And Rowdy totally doesn't think you're weird at all. You got me through a lot of rough days in NC. :)
Now I'm going to stalk your 'eat' section in case there are any restaurants on my side of town!

I like comments and read them all but I'm not great about responding to them, so please don't be offended. I would much rather visit your blog instead!
