i just need you to eat at taco bell for me

It's Wednesday and I'm back to work after five days of being away. I read lots of blog posts but didn't comment because phone reading was way easier when I wasn't at work. I'm not ready to be back at work but I am ready to get back to blogging and what better way to ease the transition than by linking up with Kathy?

- I confess that since I don't know how to cook, the fact that I made Trader Joe's Kung Pao Chicken (frozen and precooked but I had to "stir fry" it in a skillet to warm it up then add the pre-cut veggies and sauce) made me way more proud than it should have.

- I've never really understood the stay at home wife lifestyle (probably because I suck at domestic things), but the past two days I've prepared dinner (notice how I don't use the word "cook") and we've eaten so much earlier than we're used to and it's lovely. I confess that I'm jealous of everyone who can be done with dinner by 6:30 because that's mostly impossible for us!

- I adore the mute button on twitter more and more each day. If I get sick of retweets, then a-muting I will go!

- I don't like Taco Bell and haven't eaten there in years but something about the quesarito is so damn appealing. Someone please try it so I don't.

- If you follow me on twitter than you know I had jury duty yesterday. I may have gotten dismissed super early and I may have just taken advantage of the rest of the day to hang out with my nieces some more. We may have built a tent, played catch in the house against my mom's wishes, colored, and discussed tattoos. If I have to take a half day of vacation to make up for what I may have done, then it will be well worth it.

- I like to use Confessions posts as my own personal tutorials so I will confess something I don't know in hopes that you do - I've seen other people screenshot their twitter accounts and there's a notification by the "Me" on the bottom right. I use twitter a lot and never get notifications there so I confess that I think I'm missing out on something - care to explain?

- I know I said that I didn't care about the World Cup but then I hopped on the bandwagon and started drinking the kool-aid because Clint Dempsey is from Nacogdoches, Texas, a pretty small town that my grandma's family lives in. I spent a few weeks there each summer as a kid and you know I love me some Texas pride. Plus, I love that I can watch the game at work on Thursday in the name of patriotism, right?

- I have to stop myself from liking food and cat pictures on instagram because I worry what people might think if they see that that's 90% of the things I like.

- I judge myself for the above confession because I shouldn't care but really who wants to be the food and cat lady (oh wait, I kind of do).

That's all I've got for today - lucky me, I'm off Friday so it's only a two day work week.

  2. Those twitter notifications are for people who are private. You get a notification in that section if someone requests to follow you. :)

  3. Glad you enjoyed your "jury duty" day. :)

I hadn't heard about the quesarito, so I googled it and I'd be happy to try it. Stay tuned. :)

  4. I only like Greyhound photos on instagram. It's my thing. Then again, 98% of my instagram posts are of the dogs, so I feel like that makes it completely acceptable.

  5. Sorry I am a fan of Taco Bell. I know it's total crap but yummy! Glad you had fun with the nieces, and I'm jealous of the two day workweek!! I have 3 and and feel like it's going to be long!!

  6. i haven't been on twitter in awhile, what exactly is the mute button and where can i find it? i'm slightly annoyed with them/bloglovin because they are automatically posting links to my blog posts and i dont want to be that idiot whos constantly tweeting her blog post links. i hate that!

it's okay to like all cat pics on instagram, i do too :)

  7. The first day back to work after time off is the worst.

I really like cooking but there is no way I could do it every night. I typically make a couple of things Sunday that I can eat on all week. I am sure this will change once Drake and I get married, but I am not looking forward to that. ;)

  8. I almost never eat at Taco Bell but I did try the locos tacos a few weeks ago. Basically Doritos flavored taco shell and it was AMAZING! I'm also trying to get on the sports bandwagon, because my office is making a special point of having a buffet and time at work to watch the game tomorrow and I wish I cared like they did!

  9. I've surprised myself in being able to actually enjoy cooking dinner on a daily basis lol

  10. That sounds like an excellent use of a jury day. I like to use the confession day to ask questions as well :) Also I always like all the food pictures, because that is all I post and must "like" in solidarity.

  11. I haven't had Taco Bell in forever either & am really curious about that thing! I make no promises as I'll probably forget...but I leave for MN on Saturday so maybe somewhere on my drive home I'll get taco bell. I've been craving a Dorito taco anyway. I'll get one of each ha.

  12. I totally don't understand the stay-at-home wife lifestyle either. I'm pretty sure I'd go insane. Finishing dinner by 6:30pm is pretty much impossible for me too! Got to love long commutes...waaaa.

  13. I pretty much exclusively hit the like button on photos of pets. Oh well!
I adore taco bell, I will let you know on the quesarito!

  14. I thoroughly enjoyed your jury duty tweets yesterday! And I tried to watch the USA vs. Portugal game in the name of patriotism, but I just couldn't. Soccer puts me to sleep. haha

  15. I am totally the dog and food lady on Instagram. It's okay.

I can't be eating by 6:30 on a weeknight unless it's leftovers/prepared on the weekend.

I could totally be a stay at home person. Not a stay at home mom, but a stay at home person.

  16. you know i dont know anything about twitter, so no advice there - can people see what you like on instagram? haha i feel older every day ;) i can only eat taco bell when i'm drunk, so i guess i have to get drunk for you!

  17. Nacogdoches!! My aunt was supposed to move there but until she mentioned it I had never EVER heard of it and then after I heard of it I started hearing about it. Make sense? There is something about that weird Taco Bell meat. I like it and I don't know why.

  18. I haven't had Taco Bell in years. I used to really love it! I haven't really had fast food in a long time either...except a few random trips to Whataburger if I am out late and drinking was involved. We drove past Taco Bell the other night and I was all mmmmmmm beef chalupa supreme sounds so good right now! Chris was like no. Don't ever eat there again it is so disgusting what they serve as "food." Fine. lol.

I totally like all the dog photos and full accept my crazy dog lady status.

  19. Welcome back to reality! Nothing wrong with being a food person... at least I hope not!

  20. I never pay attention to what other's like on IG, I only care what I like!

Yayy for playing hookie after jury duty!

We don't have a set meal time here for any meal at all. So many different schedules that we just eat when we get hungry. I would love to do once a week family dinners at the table but I haven't yet.

  21. I still haven't used that mute feature on Twitter, I must go give it a try! That's awesome you were dismissed early for jury duty. I like food and cat pictures too :D

Also, how do you not like taco bell?!

    ReplyDelete
  22. The mute button on twitter is a life saver!!! So many mutes now haha

    ReplyDelete
  23. The liking on IG made me laugh! I also like how you use the word prepare, instead of cook. And how was the TJ stir fry? I've seen it, but never tried it.

  24. you should google Clint Dempsey's rapping. because yes he raps. it's entertaining, he wraps about texas even

  25. I will gladly try that Quesarito for you and get back to you! I was also considering making it seem it doesn't seem too difficult. And um, coloring in a tent with your niece definitely sounds better than work!

  26. My court appearance only lasted 10 minutes yesterday and I may have treated myself to SB, a mani, and then sushi ;)

  27. If I have a quesoritto I'll let you know how it is. And I might beat you in the "cat and food lady" department because I might not be liking all those - but that's pretty much the only pictures I put on my instagram... food, cat, cat, food, dog with my cat, food...

  28. You don't like Taco Bell? FUCK YOU LAUREN!! FUUUUCK YOUUUU!

  29. I will eat at Taco Bell for you any day!!! And the stay at home lifestyle looks better and better to me everyday!!

  30. I hate Taco Bell, but my boyfriend loves it. Luckily, so does his partner at work. They usually eat Taco Bell on Sundays and it totally saves me from having to go with him.

  31. I have such a love-hate relationship with Taco Bell...I liked it at first, because there wasn't one in my town growing up, so it was a novelty. Now, I'm just not sure! And this post has made me realize how much I don't know about Twitter...like, you can mute people? And notifications? I don't use it very much, but still, dang my lack of knowledge!

  32. My husband tried the quesarito and it looked appalling/delicious. He seemed to enjoy it. I get their burrito bowl thing, not gonna lie, it's awesome.

  33. I have only eaten at a taco bell once. Chic Fil a is my demon to battle. haha

  34. Loud and proud cat lady/foodie here. Don't be ashamed because you are so alone :).

I'm home from work today too. There's something about being home on a typical work day that is so awesome, even if you have to work on Saturday (which is the reason I'm home today). Have a great long weekend.

    XO

  35. Is it weird that I actually enjoyed Jury Duty? I did it for one day and it was a drunk driving case (one that didn't cause any fatalities).
I'm glad you got to spend more time with your nieces! If I ever try the quesarito, I'll be sure to tell you what I think!

  36. I tried that new thing at Taco Bell. It was good! I added a lot of fire sauce. I also tried their new Frozen Dr Pepper Vanilla and it was also tasty.

  37. I haven't been to Taco Bell since college--but in college, that was my place! Cheapest fast food around...
I prefer to eat around 6:30, not late, but Angel doesn't get home from work until after 8. I used to wait for him but lately I've gotten practical and just eat by myself when I want to, and warm up his dinner later.

  38. But cats and food are the two best things on earth.

ALSO why are you reading my mind! I haven't had Taco Bell in like five years probably but lately I've been craving it like nobody's business! What is happening to me?!
